The problem

Sound familiar?

Hard to remember

Symptoms change over weeks. In a short appointment, it's hard to say what happened when.

Apps built for something else

Many PCOS apps are built around diets, weight or getting pregnant. Mirabelle is built around your symptoms.

Guessing

Period forecasts that assume a regular cycle. A new medicine, and no clear way to see what's changed.

Why I'm building this

I'm Ash. I've had PCOS for years, and so do a lot of people I know.

I wanted one place to note how I actually feel, see what goes together, and bring something clear to my appointments. The PCOS apps I found were mostly about weight loss or getting pregnant.

So I built the one I wanted, for me first. Now I'd like to make it for you too.

Ash, founder of Mirabelle

How it works

Three steps.

  1. 1

    Choose what to notice

Symptoms, mood, periods, medicines. Tap what matters to you; change it any time.

Choosing what to keep an eye on: symptoms, periods, and skin and hair asked monthly.
  2. 2

Mark each day in a few taps

A little to a lot, low to bright, a tick for a dose. Missing a day is fine; nothing resets.

Today: symptoms marked by size, mood, the period card and today's doses.
  3. 3

Take one page to your appointment

Medicines across the months, with what changed underneath: counts and cycle lengths a doctor reads quickly.

The summary: medicines as bars across six months, with the skin check-in, symptom counts and cycle lengths underneath.

What's different

What's different about Mirabelle.

See what changed since a treatment started

Tap a medicine to see your notes before and since you started it: check-ins, symptoms and cycle lengths, in plain counts. Months later, the answer is on one page instead of in your memory.

Counts, not scores. It shows what changed; you and your doctor decide what it means.

A medicine's page in Mirabelle: spironolactone, started 26 May, with skin and hair-growth check-ins split before and since the start, and a sentence of counts under each.

A hair check on the scale doctors use

Once a month, rate coarse hair in nine areas from 0 to 4. See each area change over months, not just "worse" or "better".

Self-rated, never a diagnosis. The nine areas and 0–4 ratings of the modified Ferriman–Gallwey score, which the international guideline recommends for assessing unwanted hair.

Questions

Questions you might have.

Why is there no weight in it?
  • Every size. PCOS/PMOS happens at every body size.
  • Not just weight. Insulin resistance is common even at lower weights.
  • Your choice. The guideline says you can ask not to be weighed.

So Mirabelle never asks for your weight. If it matters to you, add it as your own symptom. Sources: International Evidence-based Guideline (Rec 3.6.1, PP 3.6.4) · Cassar et al., 2016

Is it really free?

Yes. Logging, reminders, the last 30 days of trends, the summary on screen, export and iCloud sync are free for as long as you use it. Plus is optional.

Do I need a diagnosis to use it?

No. It works the same whether you've been diagnosed or are still finding out, and what you note can help that conversation. Mirabelle doesn't diagnose anything.

Why doesn't it predict my period?

When cycles vary, a forecast can't be relied on, and a missed one can be worrying for no reason. You get the real dates and cycle lengths instead, the same numbers the guideline uses.

Can Mirabelle tell me if my medicine is working?

No app can decide that. Mirabelle shows your notes before and since you started, side by side, in counts. Some treatments take six months or more to judge, and the guideline says so. You and your doctor decide what the change means.

Where are my notes kept?

On your device, and in your own iCloud if you use it. There's no account, and we never see your notes. More in the privacy policy.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Tick the Android box when you join the waitlist; it tells us when it's worth building.

When can I try it?

The waitlist hears first: once when there's a test version, and once when it's in the App Store.

Help shape it.

I'm looking for early testers with PCOS/PMOS. Try Mirabelle before it's out, and tell me what would help you most.
